What this app does

Demystify Patents is a tool that helps you analyse a single patent claim by breaking it into labelled parts, steps, and constraints. You submit a claim, the app sends it to an AI model for analysis, and you can then review, edit, and export the results.

What we collect

• Email address — collected when you sign in via Google, X, or email. Used only to identify you and manage your session.
• Claim text — the patent claim you paste into the app. Sent to a third-party AI service (see below) for processing. Not stored on our servers after the request completes.

Third-party services

• Anthropic (Claude API) — your claim text is sent to Anthropic's API to generate the P/S/C breakdown. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed by Claude. If your claim text is confidential or unpublished, please be aware it will be transmitted to Anthropic's servers.
• Clerk — handles authentication (sign-in via Google, X, LinkedIn, or email). Clerk stores your email address and session information. Clerk's privacy policy applies.
• Google / X (Twitter) / LinkedIn — if you use social sign-in, the respective provider receives the sign-in request and returns your email and profile name to Clerk. Their respective privacy policies apply.
• Vercel — the app is hosted on Vercel, which may log standard request metadata (IP address, timestamps). Vercel's privacy policy applies.

How we use your data

• Your email is used to authenticate you and maintain your 7-day session. It is not shared with any party other than those listed above.
• Claim text is used solely to generate the breakdown for your current session. It is not stored, indexed, or used for any other purpose.

Data retention

We do not persist claim text or breakdown data server-side. Session tokens expire after 7 days. To request deletion of any account data held by Clerk, contact us at the email below.
